What is the ITIL Exam?

The Information Technology Infrastructure Library, or ITIL, is a widely regarded and accepted system of best information technology service management practices that is used throughout the IT business. If you work in the IT world, you probably have heard of ITIL certification and the ITIL Exam.

In order to be certified as an ITIL professional, you must take an ITIL Foundation certification test. Here are some basic facts about this exam:*

Passing the exam is often required to get a job in most IT departments all around the world, regardless of size.
To be certified as an IT management expert, you must pass just one exam from one of these three primary exam institutes: EXIN - EXo-101, BCS/ISEB - BHo-012, or PEOPLECERT – CMS7.
Each exam has around 40 multiple choice questions and has a test-taking time limit of one hour.
There are four separate levels of the ITIL exam, so you can take four different skill assessment exams, ranging from the Foundation Level to the Master Level.
